PANTHER
VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Panther Valley School
District was founded in 1964 and includes the boroughs of Coaldale in Schuylkill
County and Lansford, Nesquehoning, and Summit Hill in Carbon County. The student
population of the district is approximately 1529 students and 124 professionals
are employed as teachers and administrators. The district consists of one
elementary school, one middle school, and one high school.

BACKGROUND
- The
district, located in Carbon and Schuylkill counties, encompasses an area
of approximately 40 square miles.
- It has
a population of 13,397, according to the 2000 federal census.
- The
administrative offices are at Box 40 Rt. 209, Lansford, Pennsylvania.
- During
1999-2000, the district provided basic educational services to 1,529 pupils
through the employment of 7 administrators, 124 teachers, and 53 full-time
and part-time support personnel.
Special education was provided by the district and the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate
Unit #21.
Occupational training and adult education in various vocational and technical
fields were
provided by the district and the Carbon County Area Vocational-Technical
School.
